I am so lucky to know some really fantastic craftwomen who just happen to be hookers! This page is set aside just to highlight some of the work that they have done and continue to do.
I would like to dedicate this space to the first HOOKING HALL OF FAME MEMBER — Ruth Hogue.
Ruth is a Kentucky native and a retired McGown teacher who moved to Colorado in 1990 from Michigan. Ruth's forte would have to be her fantastic color planning and her love of fine hooking. She taught at camps back East for many years and now spends time hooking at her home. I would like to recognize Ruth and thank her for all the knowledge she has so willingly shared. Out of the scores of rugs that Ruth has completed, I was thrilled to photograph a few of her favorites to share on this page.

Hooked by Ruth Hogue in a #3 cut

This wonderful rug, hooked by Ruth Hogue in 2006 is just gorgeous! The photos do not do justice in capturing the magnificent light, color and intricate detail that she has incorporated in hooking this popular pattern — but hopefully you can get the idea! She color-planned and dyed the wools for this beautifully executed rug.

The three close-ups will give you a look at the amazing shading and detail!
