Grandpa
Sorry, grandpa has been sold
A one-of-a-kind original sculpture
by Cheryl D. Bollenbach
Bedhead is the definite style of the day as Grandpa goes to retrieve his morning papers. He is dressed in cotton seersucker pajamas and a flannel robe. He has a hanky hanging out of his robe pocket. This bit of social commentary uncovers the same old smell on the news, as Grandpa is confronted by a skunk lurking behind the rose bushes.
Grandpa's head, hands and feet are sculpted of polymer clay that has been hand-painted with meticulous detail in fine acrylic paint. He has a fabric body that has been needle sculpted over a wire armature. He sports a mohair wig and is attached to a solid wood stand.
